March 18th : NSCDC Assures smooth elections in Zamfara

Zamfara State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Muhammad Bello Muazu has affirmed the commitment and readiness of the Corps  to ensure a smooth conduct of the forthcoming Gubernatorial and State house of assembly elections.

According to the press released the Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu Stated that,  in a stakeholders meeting  organized and hosted by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Zamfara State, chaired  by the INEC National Commissioner incharge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, Prof Muhammad Sani Kalla (OON) held  at the INEC State Headquarters Gusau.

“NSCDC is in a high spirits and have made strategic deployments base on population and vulnerability of registration areas to insecurity for the purpose of the March 18th Gubernatorial and State  house of assembly elections”  MB Muazu said.

MB Muazu further said that, in a strong synergy with other sister agencies, the elections will be adjudged the best in terms of security coverage.

“NSCDC  has provided about ten hotlines  across the senatorial districts that could easily be reached in the advent of any perceived threat or emergency in addition to the operation room and network created by the Corps where all information are being synchronized directly from the 14 local Government Areas of the state during the elections” MB Muazu noted.

MB Muazu  appealed to the various stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies and to  enjoined  their followers to be of good conduct law abiding during and after the elections.

“Meanwhile, the convener of the meeting, INEC National Commissioner incharge of Sokoto Kebbi and Zamfara States Prof Mohammed Sani Kalla OON  craved the indulgence of all stakeholders to be law abiding and to ensure a hitch free elections”

“He praised Zamfara State for a smooth conduct of the last general elections. He however expressed optimism and confidence in the security architecture of the State to ensure another round of smooth conduct of elections”
