ZAKAT BOARD SPONSORS MASS WEDDING FOR 10 PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN ZAMFARA

Zamfara State Zakat and Endowment Board has sponsored the wedding of ten (10) persons with disabilities as part of its humanitarian and social support initiatives.
In a Statement Signed by the Spokesperson of Zakat Board Malan Jamilu Sani Tsafe, issued to the Journalist in Gusau the State Capital.
According to Statement, Chairman of the Board, Sheikh Ahmad Ibn Umar Kanoma, described the gesture as the first of its kind by the Board specifically dedicated to persons with disabilities.
“Although the Board regularly organizes mass weddings for eligible beneficiaries, this special edition was exclusively for individuals with special needs” Chairman noted.
Sheikh Kanoma narrated that, the initiative was aimed at reducing hardship and bringing joy and dignity to persons with disabilities, ”noting that marriage expenses can be very challenging for many families within society”
Kanoma emphasized that, the Zakat and Endowment Board remains a non-political and humanitarian body committed to overseeing the proper collection and distribution of Zakat and endowment funds across the state for the benefit of deserving citizens.
The Chairman called on wealthy individuals and organizations in the state to liaise with the Board when distributing their Zakat to ensure it reaches the rightful beneficiaries in a transparent and organized manner.
“The Board also donates furniture items to the brides and provided ₦50,000 cash support to each groom to assist them in starting their new homes”
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Zamfara State Board of Persons with Disabilities, Alhaji Usman Ahmad Nahuce, represented by the Secretary of the Board, Dr. Bilyaminu Umar Kaura Namoda, expressed gratitude to the Zakat Board for its concern and support for persons with special needs.
“Persons with disabilities in Zamfara State are not facing isolation, as both the government and the people continue to promote inclusion and equal treatment”
He also appreciated the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for his support and commitment toward making the initiative a reality.
Similarly, the Sarkin Guragu of Zamfara, Alhaji Shehu Umar, prayed for Allah's continued guidance and protection for the State Governor, Dr, Dauda Lawal, urging him to sustain developmental initiatives that improve the lives of citizens.
