New Director Urges Information Officers to Embrace Digital Skills, Hard Work

The newly appointed Director of Information Service Malam Ahmad Sani Tsafe, has expressed gratitude to staff and stakeholders of the Ministry of Information for the warm reception accorded him on assumption of office, describing information officers as a bridge between government and the people.

The director made the remarks while addressing staff of the ministry, where he called on information officers to see themselves as intermediaries between government and society by effectively communicating government policies, programmes and achievements to the public.

He urged the officers to dedicate themselves to their duties, work hard and embrace digital technology to improve their effectiveness in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The director also charged reporters in the ministry to investigate and report on the sources of revenue available to the ministry, assuring that he would do everything within his capacity to bring about positive developmental changes.

In his remarks, the Deputy Director of Information Services (DDIS), Idris Mainasara, called on information officers to remain committed, dedicated and professional in the discharge of their duties.

Mainasara assured the new director of the support and cooperation of the ministry's staff towards achieving the desired goals of his administration.

Similarly, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comrad Ibrahim Musa Maizare, expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah for the appointment of the new director, saying it was confident that he would work diligently to promote the development of the state.

The NUJ called on all information officers to work together with the new director and support his efforts towards achieving the desired objectives of the ministry.

Also speaking, Engr. Mustapha Rabiu Bakura urged information officers to maintain proper records, introduce regular in-house training and develop investigative skills to improve their professional capacity.

Another speaker, Muazu M. Bela, charged the staff to uphold transparency and creativity in carrying out their duties, while also urging them to remain loyal and committed to the ministry.

The speakers collectively pledged their support and cooperation to the new director, stressing the importance of teamwork, professionalism and innovation in advancing the ministry's activities.

FMC Gusau re-affirms Commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital

By Ibrahim Ahmad The Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau on Tuesday , reaffirmed its commitment towards upgrading to a teaching hospital for enhanced service delivery. The Medical Director of the FMC Gusau, Dr Bello Mohammed made the re-affirmation during the inauguration of a medical  “Common room” constructed by the centre’ s branch of the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
