ZLGSC Trains 42 DD's Sectional Head's, Others, On Socially Inclusive Budget for Effective LG Admin

The Zamfara State Local Government Service Commission, in collaboration with Simpex Consult Limited, has conducted a three-day training workshop for 42 Deputy Directors of Social Development and Sectional Heads, Building and Planning Officers, on the Socially Inclusive Budgeting (SIB) Approach for effective local government administration across the fourteen local government areas of the State.

This Was Contained in a Press Released Signed by the Sporksperson of the Commission, Mallan Jamilu Isah Gusau, issued ro the Journalists in Gusau.

According to the Press Released, the training workshop,  with themed : Socially Inclusive Budgeting (SIB) Approach for an Effective Local Government Administration,  aimed to highlight the relevance of public servants' responsibilities.

Declaring the workshop open at a ceremony held at the commission multipurpose hall in Gusau, the State Capital, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Aminu Aliyu Mafara, who was represented by the Permanent Commissioner  II, Alhaji Anas Iliyasu Birninsin, said that effective budgeting at the local government level must not only focus on financial allocations, but

should also take into consideration the needs, priorities and interests of different groups within Communities.

“Officers responsible for social development, planning, building and related administrative functions play important roles in ensuring that local government development programs and projects are properly planned and beneficial to the people at the grassroots” he noted.

The Executive Chairman further said that, the workshop is relevant to collective efforts to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure that, the needs and interests of all segments of the communities are adequately reflected in local government planning and budgeting.

Aminu Aliyu urged all the participants to actively participate in the sessions, share their experiences and seek clarification on areas that require further understanding.

In his remarks, the Consultants of Simpex Consult Limited, Alhaji Garba Sani Kaura, urged all participants to actively participate, share experiences, and make effective use of the knowledge and skills that will be acquired during the workshop, adding that the commission expects that, at the end of the program, participants will be better equipped to promote inclusive, transparent and responsive budgeting practices within their respective Local Government Councils

in his addressed, the acting Secretary of the Commission, who doubled as Director of Administration of the Commission, Alhaji Muktar Sani Bukkuyum, said the workshop therefore provides an opportunity to enhance our knowledge and understanding of socially inclusive budgeting, improve professional capacity and promote better coordination among relevant stakeholders
